Marijke Klamer is an artist from Groningen. She studied Fine Arts at Minerva Art Academy. She paints, draws and works with textile and ceramics.
An aspect that keeps coming back in her work is the relation between creatures and their surroundings and how these merge into each other.
Recent work includes an installation of ceramic maps, in which she depicted different traces of life, exploitation and water bodies from the landscape of East-Groningen. Through the maps she commemorates the swamp that used to be in that area, Bourtangermoeras.
